Terms of Service
Last updated: May 31, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of aidetectors.io and its related tools, including the AI content detector, AI humanizer, paraphraser, summarizer, and citation checker (collectively, the "Service"), operated by [Company Legal Name] ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account, checking the consent box at sign-up, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service is informational only
The Service provides automated, probabilistic estimates and text-processing tools. All output, including any AI-detection score, classification, or highlighted text, is provided for general informational purposes only. It does not constitute professional, academic, legal, employment, or disciplinary advice, and must not be treated as a definitive or authoritative determination of how any text was created.
2. AI detection accuracy and limitations
Artificial-intelligence detection is an inherently uncertain, evolving technology. You acknowledge and agree that:
- No detector is 100% accurate. The Service produces probabilistic estimates and will, in some cases, return false positives (flagging human-written text as AI-generated) and false negatives (failing to flag AI-generated text).
- Accuracy varies with text length, language, subject matter, editing, paraphrasing, and the specific AI model used. Short texts and edited or mixed human-and-AI text are especially difficult to assess.
- A score or result is a statistical signal, not proof, and does not establish that any particular person did or did not use AI.
- AI models and detection methods change continuously; results may differ over time for identical text, and we make no guarantee of consistency.
3. No reliance; your responsibility
You must not rely solely on the Service to make decisions that affect any person. This includes, without limitation, academic-integrity findings, grading, admissions, hiring, termination, disciplinary action, publication, or any other consequential decision. Any such decision must be based on your own independent judgment and corroborating evidence. You are solely responsible for how you interpret and use the output, and for any action you take or do not take as a result. We are not responsible for decisions made by you or any third party based on the Service.
4. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it current.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to harass, defame, or wrongfully accuse any person;
- Submit content that infringes the rights of others or that you do not have the right to submit;
- Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or circumvent rate limits, security, or access controls;
- Resell, sublicense, or build a competing service from the Service or its output without our written permission;
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
We may suspend or terminate access for any violation, or to protect the Service or other users.
6. Your content
You retain ownership of the text and materials you submit ("User Content"). You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to process, transmit, and temporarily store User Content solely to operate and improve the Service. You represent that you have the right to submit your User Content. To deliver results, User Content may be transmitted to third-party AI and infrastructure providers; see our Privacy Policy for details.
7. Subscriptions, billing, and refunds
Paid plans are billed in advance through our payment processor on a recurring basis until cancelled. You may cancel at any time, effective at the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable. We may change pricing or plan features with reasonable notice.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, models, design, and content (excluding User Content), is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use the Service in accordance with these Terms.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE AND ALL OUTPUT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY DETECTION RESULT IS ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, REPUTATION, OR OPPORTUNITY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE OR ANY RELIANCE ON ITS OUTPUT, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $50.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your User Content, your violation of these Terms, or any decision you make based on the Service.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to the Service or others. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, by additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [Jurisdiction], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in [Jurisdiction] for any dispute that is not subject to arbitration or small-claims resolution.
